Best Paper Award at AHFE conference

My paper “The Interaction of Causal Attribution of Performance and Compliance with Decision Support Systems in Cyber-Physical Production Systems” has been honored with the Best Paper Award at the 8th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE), which took place from July 17 to 21 in Los Angeles. The Paper was written as part of my work in the Cluster of Excellence "Integrative Production Technologies for High Wage Countries".

We examined the interaction between humans and decision-support-systems in automatized production networks. The research question gains relevance because of the increasing complexity of production processes and supply chains. The focal point of the paper lies on a better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of recommendation systems and the question when users follow those recommendations, if they are able to recognize faults as well as the fault's attribution. The goal is to improve existing systems on the one hand and to counteract potentially harmful obedience to defective systems and set training measures against this on the other hand.
